DraftKings Inc. recently announced that the Company’s Board of Directors has appointed Valerie Mosley and Jocelyn Moore as new board members. Ms. Mosley and Ms. Moore fill two new seats on the Board, which now is comprised of 15 members.
The two new board appointments come on the heels of DraftKings’ recent announcement that NBA Hall of Famer, six-time NBA Finals MVP and Chairman of Hornets Sports and Entertainment, Michael Jordan, will serve as the Board’s Special Advisor.

Meet DraftKings Board Member Jocelyn Moore
Currently, Jocelyn Moore is a Venture Partner at Ozone X Ventures in New York. Ms. Moore also serves as the Executive-in-Residence at The Gathering Spot, a curated, private, members-only club in Atlanta, that is ideally positioned to build the future of the Black community.
Previously, Moore served as the NFL’s Executive Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs; her responsibilities included strategically establishing public affairs and communications as business assets. Moore accomplished this with storytelling around the NFL’s leadership role in society and the league’s community impact. Moore also led the NFL’s public affairs response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s repeal of PASPA.
Before her work with the NFL, Moore served as a Managing Director at The Glover Park Group, the market-leading communications, and government affairs consulting firm. She also spent 15 years in a variety of staff positions for the US Senate. Finally, both Business Insider and Sports Business Journal has recognized Moore as a Notable Woman in the Business of Sports and as a Sports Betting Power Player by Crain’s New York Business.

Meet DraftKings Board Member Valerie Mosley
Valerie Mosley is the founder and CEO of Upward, a wealth-tech platform helping the average, hard-working American consistently grow their net worth. Mosley is also the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Valmo Ventures, which invests in companies, assets, and initiatives that add value to both society and shareholders.
However, Mosley spent most of her career at the trillion-dollar global money management firm, Wellington Management Company, LLP. She served at Wellington as a Partner, Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager, and Investment Strategist. During Mosley’s 20-year tenure at Wellington, she managed billions of dollars for clients, while serving on several key Investment Committees. She also chaired Wellington’s Industry Strategy Group, in charge of taking a long-term perspective, identifying headwinds and tailwinds that impact industries.
Currently, Mosley also serves on the board of Groupon, Eaton Vance, and Envestnet. She also serves on the advisory committee for New York State’s Common Retirement Pension Fund, and is a board member for the philanthropic venture firm New Profit, which assists social entrepreneurs scale businesses.
Ms. Mosley also made the UK’s 2017 Powerlist as International Person of the Year, and was among the 50 Most Powerful Black Women in Business. Finally, Black Enterprise Magazine placed Mosley among the 75 Most Powerful African Americans on Wall Street.
