What we cover
Hard Rock’s Sponsorship of a Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Just Makes Sense
“We’re very excited to partner with a brand that pairs so well with the style of our brand. It’s very representative of what makes Atlantic City such an iconic destination for tourists,” observed Chris Marciani, Vice President of Global Partnerships, North America for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series.
“Just like Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon, the Hard Rock Atlantic City is devoted to delivering an exceptional experience while infusing music and merriment into everything we do.”
The Hard Rock is famous for decorating its venues with Rock ‘n’ Roll memorabilia. The Hard Rock Hotel Casino Atlantic City has an enormous collection of pop-music memorabilia, including Elvis Presley’s 1963 Rolls-Royce, Joe Walsh’s guitar, Michael Jackson’s glove, and many other pieces, including an ordinary pocket-sized address book owned by Jimi Hendrix.
With nearly 500 pieces of rock memorabilia on display, Hard Rock Atlantic City has more artifacts than any of the 200-plus venues in the Hard Rock International chain. The items on display in Atlantic City include lots of guitars once owned and played by Bob Dylan, Prince, Keith Richards, and Jimi Hendrix. Likewise, there are lots of glamorous stage costumes that once adorned the bodies of rockers Stevie Nicks, Pink, Lady Gaga, Nikki Minaj and even Dolly Parton. The Hard Rock Atlantic City is certainly the place to visit for connoisseurs of rock music.
The Race is Rockin’ in Jersey
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Rock ’n’ Roll Atlantic City Half Marathon will kick off during the twilight hours of the early evening; the thousands of participants will be treated to a truly unique race experience highlighting Atlantic City’s boardwalk and beach atmosphere.
The race weekend will begin on Thursday, May 14, as the Health and Fitness Expo opens its doors to the public. The runners will then hit the streets of Atlantic City on Friday, May 15 for the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Rock ‘n’ Roll Atlantic City 5K. The half marathon will take place on Saturday evening at twilight, May 16.
The half marathon will begin at Bader Field, and the race will wind its way through the shore towns of Ventnor and Margate before eventually making its way through Atlantic City’s world-famous Boardwalk for the race’s final six miles.
Playing to New Jersey’s rich rock ‘n’ roll history, the musically themed race will turn up the volume of the participating bands and DJs for both competitors and the public to enjoy. The race’s finish line is at Hard Rock Atlantic City, and finishes up with a huge after-party festival.
“We couldn’t be prouder than to partner with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series. We’re very excited to bring this highly-awaited race into the community,” commented Joe Lupo, President of Hard Rock Atlantic City. “Rock is in Hard Rock’s DNA, and playing to that is what we do. We look forward to bringing marathon runners from Bader Field to the Atlantic City Boardwalk where we’ll celebrate with them at the Hard Rock Atlantic City finish line.”
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series and Hard Rock Atlantic City will host a Preview Party on Thursday, March 12, to celebrate the partnership. During the event, the runners will be able to run a preview of the real half marathon by running a two-mile stretch, finishing at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City.
The Preview Party is open to the public, and will feature raffles, refreshments, giveaways, and discounts. Onsite registration for the races will also be available. This promises to be a family-friendly weekend.
