About BetMGM
BetMGM is among the top sports betting and digital gaming platforms in the country, and a pioneer of the online gaming industry. A joint venture between MGM Resorts International and GVC Holdings Plc, BetMGM has sole control of all of MGM’s land-based and online sports betting in the US, as well as online gaming and major tournament poker.
Using GVC’s US-licensed cutting edge technology, BetMGM offers players in New Jersey and other states sports betting and online gaming through its market-leading brands BetMGM, Party Casino, Borgata Casino, and Party Poker.
While MGM’s land-based resorts have lost revenue, due to the pandemic shutdowns, BetMGM revenue exceeded expectations. Currently, the BetMGM sports betting app is available in four states, and the app’s combined market share shot up from 4.5% in January to 8.7% by September. In New Jersey, the BetMGM casino app currently has an 18% market share.
Boosting Market Share Through Strategic Partnerships
BetMGM has forged a robust partnership with the PGA Tour, signing on an official betting partner, providing, among other things, live betting odds for the Tour’s CJ Cup, played last month at the Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas. The PGA Tour has become one of the most popular sports on the BetMGM sports betting platform.
BetMGM also signed a deal with the Detroit Lions, granting the sportsbook exclusive broadcast rights, as well as digital marketing and promotions within Ford Field Stadium. The Las Vegas Raiders and the Baltimore Ravens have also partnered with BetMGM as well as Caesars.
BetMGM also hired popular actor and musician Jamie Foxx to star in its ‘The King of Sportsbooks’ marketing campaign. The commercials are played on both television and social media in the markets where the sportsbook app is available.
Finally, the sports betting company launched the live show, “Betting Across America” in collaboration with VsiN.
BetMGM has also forged quite a few deals for casino game content within the last year, including content from Playtech, AGS, DGC, and Evolution Gaming.
