Caesars Entertainment is finally ready to start renovations at Harrah’s Atlantic City. Last year, Caesars Entertainment pledged a $400 Million Investment Plan for the City and it appears to be making good on its promise. Caesars promised to make huge changes to 2 of its casinos in AC this summer starting with Harrah’s AC before moving on to Caesars AC.
Caesars Entertainment pledged to spend a minimum of $400 million in Atlantic City before NJ gambling regulators approved the merger of Caesars Entertainment and Eldorado Gaming. Caesars plans to deal with the renovations over the next 3 years. The primary objective here is to uplift the Caesars brand in the hospitality industry that is just reawakening.
Primarily, Caesars Entertainment wants to position Caesars AC, Tropicana, as well as Harrah’s as the leading casino resort in the city. When these renovations are complete, they will allow Caesars Entertainment to stand out in the burgeoning gambling market, which will further allow continued growth and success.
What we cover
What exactly is being done at Harrah’s?
The renovations process will commence at the suites in the Centurion. Caesars intends to reflect the room at the Centurion to reflect the Marina District, which is where Harrah’s AC is situated. Once renovations are complete in the Centurion, Caesars will move on to its casino floors and its sprawling restaurants.
As one of the oldest casino resorts in the city, Harrah’s AC has become a central part of AC culture. Ever since it opened its doors more than forty years ago, Harrah’s has always been at the forefront of innovation. As such, these renovations do not come as a surprise to many. In addition to all the refreshed designs in the suites, Harrah’s is also bringing in faster internet access and charging stations.
In 2018 Harrah’s embarked on a similar upgrade project when it spent nearly $56 million upgrading all its 507 guestrooms and suites situated in its Harbor Tower. Harrah’s boasts a total of 2,500 rooms that are distributed throughout its towers in Waterfront, Bayview, and Marina towers. Harrah’s casino floor is one of the biggest in the city, with 160,000 square feet of space. Caesars estimates that these renovations in the Atrium Tower will be completed before the end of the summer of 2021.
Not too long ago, Harrah’s also announced that it would debut 5 new entertainment and nightlife spots this spring in readiness for the returning nightlife in Atlantic City. The Spa at Harrah’s was one of the first spots that debuted this year. Designed to give Harrah’s customers a first-class experience, the spa is located next to The Pool, which now offers a brand new dining and nightlife experience.
Harrah’s AC also introduced a Lobby bar, which is an expanded bar that serves cocktails and more than 70 types of whisky and other spirits. The newest restaurant in one of AC’s most highly sought-after resorts is the Rum Point Crab House, which serves fresh seafood daily. Lastly, the Bay walk at Harrah’s, which is an outdoor bar with dining and live music, was also recently opened to customers.
In particular, the Spa at Harrah’s opened its doors in May 2021 as a peaceful oasis for its customers to rest, relax, and recharge. This extensive spa retreat features 23 treatment rooms that consist of deluxe couple suites that are designed with a Jacuzzi and fireplace. The amenities that have been included in the spa include flat screens that are located at the manicure stations and pedicure chairs, the makeup boutique, as well as the hairstyling area.
The Lobby Bar, which is located at the center of the casino report, was expanded thus doubling its capacity. The extensive menu consists of a range of spirits and well-crafted cocktails. The bar also serves craft and bottled beers. The Baywalk, on the other hand, has been the star of these new upgrades ever since it welcomed guests earlier in May this year.
The Baywalk not only has some of the best live music in the city, but it offers lots of games and interactive activities. Best of all, guests can dine al fresco, as has become the norm during the pandemic. The Rum Point crab house was one of the earliest to open its doors. It overlooks the stunning sunset and bay views to deliver one of the most enjoyable dining experiences in AC.
As the nightlife slowly returns to normal in AC, the nightlife experience at Harrah’s is what will help to draw throngs of people to the Marina District. The Instagram-worthy meals and drink presentations coupled with the unique nightlife experience has already been made. The Pool has been a massive hit with arriving tourists.
Not only does the Pool serve great food and drinks, but it also has a selection of performance artists, interactive entertainers such as percussionists and aerialists to keep guests occupied. It is these entertainers that are helping to put the Pool back on the map after months of dormancy thanks to the ongoing pandemic.
These renovations are exactly what the Marina District needs to recover after a grueling few months of no visitors or tourists. And it is not just Caesars Entertainment that is investing massively in Atlantic City. For instance, Hard Rock Hotel AC is reinvesting at least $20 million in capital improvements.
Hard Rock has plans to renovate its various suites, as well as open a brand new Starbucks on-site. The competing brand is also going to add new slots and table games, while also refreshing its beachfront amenities to match Harrah’s new and unique entertainment concepts.
Final Thoughts
Not many people know this, even though it wasn’t the first casino to open in the Boardwalk, it was the first to open its doors in the Marina District. More than 4 decades after it was first opened, Harrah’s is always looking out for ways to innovate its services and products. These new amenities will allow it to keep standing out in the Marina District.
