Caesars Interactive has completed its long-awaited digital rebrand in New Jersey. Caesars Online Casino NJ is now reopening under the name Tropicana Online Casino almost a year after the rebrand was initially made public in April 2022.
After ending its partnership with gaming software provider Bally’s — known previously as Gamesys — last year, Tropicana Online Casino has reopened under the umbrella of Caesars Entertainment. As part of the rebrand on March 28, Caesars’ two iGaming sites in New Jersey, TropicanaCasino.com and CaesarsCasino.com, merged into one premier online casino under the name Tropicana New Jersey.
What we cover
From William Hill to Caesars Casino & Sportsbook and finally, Tropicana New Jersey
Let’s look back a bit for some background and context. On April 22, 2021, Tropicana’s parent company Caesars Interactive Entertainment, Inc., completed its purchase of William Hill Plc. in a takeover deal valued at $4 billion.
The acquisition led to the rebranding of William Hill, New Jersey, which became Caesars Casino & Sportsbook and replaced the defunct Caesars site. Caesars Interactive later sold all William Hill assets outside of the U.S. to 888 Holdings Plc in a discounted $2.88 billion deal, according to Reuters.
Tropicana Online Casino NJ initially launched in 2013 as part of the first batch of New Jersey’s legalized gambling sites.
Unfortunately, TropicanaCasino.com officially shut down in mid-2022, a move that saw all player credits, funds, and accounts migrated over to CaesarsCasino.com. Every iGaming site previously offered by Caesars Interactive in New Jersey was consolidated under the revamped Caesars Casino & Sportsbook platform.
But now, Caesars Interactive has brought Tropicana Online Casino and old CaesarsCasino.com back for its Garden State customers. The newly re-skinned Tropicana New Jersey will also seamlessly integrate with the well-known Caesars Rewards program.
Even before the shutdown, CaesarsCasino.com had largely taken a back seat to TropicanaCasino.com, and the new rebrand presents an opportunity for Caesars Interactive to strengthen its brand in New Jersey.
What existing CaesarsCasino.com and TropicanaCasino.com players can expect from the rebrand
The rebrand doesn’t bring much in the way of disruption to the former players of both Caesars’ iGaming sites. Existing CaesarsCasino.com and TropicanaCasino.com users can now resume playing their favorite games on the instant-play Tropicana Online Casino website.
The new umbrella online casino is also available for download as a mobile gaming app. iPads, and iPhone users must download the app from the official Apple App Store. However, Android users must download the app directly from the Tropicana New Jersey website.
All rewards points, login information, and funds will be transferred to ensure a smooth transition so players can avoid any inconvenience during the process. This rebranding is happening because Caesars does not require two similarly-named online casinos under its banner. Hence, players of Tropicana and Caesars already had the same reward points program.
While announcing the re-launch, Matthew Sunderland — Caesars Digital’s Senior Vice President of iGaming — acknowledged the strong legacy of Caesars Entertainment in providing top-notch gaming experiences for players in New Jersey.
The rebranding of Caesars Online Casino NJ is a significant move towards enhancing the operator’s progress in delivering superior iGaming products to its loyal customers. Sunderland exuded confidence that the newly re-launched Tropicana site elevates the online casino experience by providing exciting games and unrivaled rewards to customers, similar to those enjoyed in Tropicana Atlantic City.
More gaming action, same high-quality guaranteed by Caesars Interactive
Desktop players can access the newly rebranded casino site at TropicanaCasino.com. It offers nearly the best of both worlds – the vibrant themes of the former Tropicana Online Casino and the interactive touch of Caesars Casino & Sportsbook.
IOS and Android users can download the Tropicana Online Casino app to their mobile devices. Either way, bettors at the new online casino can enjoy a bevy of modern and classic games, of which slots rule the roost.
Despite cutting its ties with Gamesys, Tropicana Online Casino still has a huge catalog of slot games with an assortment of graphics and themes, from Egyptian to galactic. Caesars Interactive has partnered with an impressive list of gaming software vendors – including Konami, High 5 Games, IGT, and NetEnt – for its slot selection, including classic three-reel, video slots, and progressive jackpot slots.
In addition to slots, Tropicana players can enjoy a wide-ranging choice of Slingo, video poker, live dealer, blackjack, and other market-leading table games such as European and American roulette.
New site’s bettors can enjoy cashier services at both Caesars Palace and Tropicana Atlantic City
Like other online casinos operating in New Jersey, the new Tropicana site restricts wagering on its site to players who are physically located within the state. One side benefit of this policy is that players can conveniently deposit and withdraw funds at any of Tropicana’s land-based partner casinos in New Jersey.
Players at the Caesars Online Casino NJ could previously make deposits and withdrawals by visiting the cashier cage at the Caesars Palace Atlantic City Hotel & Casino.
But, with the rebranding of Tropicana Online Casino, things have changed for the better for online gamers in New Jersey. They can now enjoy convenient and secure cashier services at both Caesars Palace Atlantic City and Tropicana Atlantic City cages.
Beyond the cashier cage services, Tropicana players can use an array of other payment methods to transfer funds to and from their wagering accounts. Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards are accepted, along with 7/Eleven-powered PayNearMe, PayPal, and Play+.
Looking into the future: The impact of the rebrand on Caesars Interactive revenues
Each brick-and-mortar casino in New Jersey can launch up to 5 online gambling sites. WynnBet, Harrah’s Online Casino, 888 Casino, Caesars Online Casino NJ, and Caesars Sportsbook and Casino operated under the Caesars umbrella before the rebrand.
Tropicana New Jersey operates through its licensee, which used to include Virgin Casino until 2022. Tropicana Atlantic City is now a sole operator with a fine chance of being a significant contributor under the Caesars licensee – at par with Harrah’s Atlantic City, its sister land-based casino.
The revenue of Caesars Interactive stands to soar by half if the operator successfully merges its brands. As of February, Tropicana and Caesars had raked in $14.5 million and $16.6 million in revenue, respectively.
